The appliance(s) must be located so that the flue terminal exits the building at a suitable point.
For detailed information refer to "Co-Axial Flueing for Internal Models" on page 11.
If a horizontal (wall) terminal is used, the location must be in accordance with Section 6 and Figure 6.2 of AS/
NZS 5601. Figure 6.2 is reproduced under ‘HORIZONTAL FLUE TERMINAL CLEARANCES’ on page 10 of this
manual.
If a vertical (roof) terminal is used, the location must be in accordance with Section 6 of AS/NZS 5601 and the
‘FLUEING FOR INTERNAL MODELS’ on page 11.
HORIZONTAL OBSTRUCTIONS
AS/NZS 5601-2010 ‘Gas Installations’ stipulates a minimum horizontal clearance of 500mm between a building
structure and obstruction facing the terminal.
For Rinnai External continuous flow water heaters such a building structure must ‘obstruct’ the full front cover
height of the appliance, or extend vertically above and below the front cover.
There must be no partial obstructions to the front cover of the appliance or any other parts of the appliance casing.
This will avoid the appliance failing to operate under windy conditions.
