Device Discovery
The FollowMe Terminal can also be configured via the Device Discovery tool which is part of the
FollowMe Q-Server, this tool allows for the FollowMe Terminal to be discovered on the network
without specifically knowing its IP address.
1) Locating Devices on Different Networks/Subnets
If the FollowMe device is on a different network/subnet to the server after the device has been
configured then it will not be instantly identified by the application.
a. Click on the Network Restrictions button
b. Click on the Add button and use the TCP/IP subnet address or the IP Address of the
device (xxx.xxx.xxx.255 will find all devices on the network without having to enter a
specific IP address) and click OK. The address will appear on the list in the Network
Restrictions dialog box
c. Ensure that the address is selected (highlighted) before clicking OK
d. Click the Requery Network button to list the device in the Devices window
2) Configuring a device
a. Highlight the device and click the 'Edit' button
b. The device can now be configured, the following settings are available for the
FollowMe Terminal, all other settings should be configured via the devices Embedded
Web Server or via the Embedded Loader Tool
