Initial start-up must be performed by an authorised and qualified heating engineer from a THERMITAL Tech-
nical Assistance Centre .
Remove the front panel from the boiler and perform the following checks before switching the boiler on or testing
any of its functions.
− Check that the type of gas supply is correct for the boiler.
− Check that the fuel and water shut-off cocks to the boiler are open.
− Check that the central heating water pressure gauge shows a pressure between 1 and 1.2 bar with the system
cold.
− Check that the gas supply pressure is correct for the boiler.
Proceed as follows to check the gas supply pressure:
− Unscrew the pressure measurement point screw
upstream from the gas valve about two turns,
and connect a pressure gauge to the measure-
ment point
− Turn the boiler’s mains power switch ON
− Adjust a room thermostat to generate a heat re-
quest
− When the burner is operating at full power, check
that the gas supply pressure lies between the
minimum and rated pressure values given in the
“Technical Specifications” table
− Eliminate the heat request
− Disconnect the pressure gauge and tighten the
pressure measurement screw upstream from the
gas valve.

Once you have completed all the checks listed above,
proceed as follows to start up the boiler for the first
time .
− Turn the mains power switch ON.
− Turn the boiler function selector to Summer "
}
"
or Winter "
{
", depending on which functioning
mode you require.

Every time electrical power is switched on, the
boiler performs an automatic venting cycle that
lasts about 12 minutes . Throughout this cycle the
two digits of the display flash alternately.
At the end of the automatic venting cycle, check
the pressure on the gauge (7) again. If necessary,
turn the boiler off at the mains power switch and
at the control panel and refill the CH circuit as in-
structed on pag . 32 .
Once the CH circuit reaches the right pressure,
switch the boiler back on again to start the au-
tomatic venting cycle .
Repeat these steps until the pressure in the CH cir-
cuit stabilises between 1 and 1 .2 bar .
