6.5.1 PAPER FEED
Jam0 (feed area)
Jam0 occurs at the following times:
•
Paper does not enter the unit due to a paper misfeed after a page was picked up.
•
Paper entered, but did not reach the Feed Sensor in a specific time interval due
to slip, etc. after a page was picked up.
•
A page was picked up, but the Feed Sensor is not on. Jam0 appears if the Feed
Sensor is still not on after a specific time interval after the Feed Sensor tries
again. This means that the leading edge of the paper didn't pass the Feed
Sensor within a specific time interval.
•
The Feed Sensor does not turn on even though the paper reaches the Feed
Sensor. This means that the leading edge of the paper already passed the Feed
Sensor, or that the sensor is faulty.
Jam1 (inside the machine)
Jam1 occurs at the following times:
•
The trailing edge of the paper does not pass the Feed Sensor within a specific
time interval after the leading edge of the paper passes the Feed Sensor. (During
this time, the Feed Sensor cannot be Off.)
• The paper does not reach the Exit Sensor within a specific time interval after the
leading edge of the paper passes the Feed Sensor. (The exit sensor cannot be
On during this time.)
•
There is already paper between the Feed Sensor and the Exit Sensor.
Jam2 (exit area)
Jam1 occurs at the following times:
•
The trailing edge of the paper does not pass the Exit Sensor within a specific
time interval after the trailing edge of the paper passes the Feed Sensor.
