Function description
SAFERUN
®
uses sensors in the
SAFERUN
®
CMS-S containment can
to determine the current operating state of the connected pump.
The system reports changes in the operating state, which allow
conclusions to be drawn about the operation of the pump in
relation to the permitted fields of application specified by the
manufacturer.
The messages are helpful for the operator in order to avoid
critical states that can result in damage and even failure of the
pump over a longer period of time.
The system uses sensors in the
SAFERUN
®
CMS-S containment
can to record the power acting on the pump
’
s magnetic coupling,
and continuously compares it with reference values that are
reported as an event if they are exceeded or fallen below.
The operating state of the pump is indicated by colored light-
emitting diodes (LEDs) in the housing cover.
1983 data records are stored in a non-volatile memory and can be
read out via the radio interface (RFID) with a specially equipped
tablet or laptop (optional tablet).
The device is connected to the power supply via the multi-core
connection cable. The analog output signal is output via the 4-20
mA current interface. The value of the output current
corresponds to the pump
’
s current operating point. The output
current depends on the parameterization.
Thanks to the system
’
s HART capability, additional information
(temperature, speed, power, flow and current operating point
analogous to the output current in %) can be sent to a higher-
level process system for further processing.
The requirements for the power supply are listed in the Appendix
(technical data).
