The Rescue® 5000 or 6000 is a wheeled cart style portable power pack that uses the 

voltage selection connections on the front of the unit, the operator can choose whether 

the output is 12V or 24V.

  Once the connection has been made at the front of the unit the clamps are hot

¬

  Plug in the AC Charge for 24 hours prior to first use

WARNING – Risk of Fire, Explosion, Electrical Damage

¬

  Incorrect or mismatched voltage connections can damage the 

vehicle or portable power pack

¬

  Make sure that 12V systems are only connected to 12V power 

packs and 24V systems are only connected to 24V power packs

  Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury, 

destruction of the power pack, or damaged to your vehicle

¬

  Read owner’s manual before use

¬

  Wear safety goggles whenever working around vehicle batteries

¬

  Wear gloves and protective clothing

Use your Rescue® pack safely

¬

  Disconnect the voltage selector on the front of the unit

¬

  Do not use the portable power pack if any cable clamp or cord is damaged

¬

  Do not short circuit the unit

¬

  Do not touch the clamps to any conductive material

¬

  Always wrap the cables back into position and store the clamps properly

¬

  If your Rescue Portable Power Pack requires service, follow the directions in the 

warranty section

¬

  Do not attempt to repair the unit or replace parts-Unauthorized repairs will void 

your warranty 

¬

  Check vehicle battery terminals before using the power pack; clean them if 

necessary

¬

  After approximately 10 seconds of continuous cranking, if the disabled vehicle fails 

to start, stop and wait 1 minute-this prevents damage to your power pack and to 

your vehicle’s system from overhauling

¬

  No lubrication is recommended or required

¬

  Avoid storing in direct sunlight, in extreme heat/cold, or very moist areas

Operating Instructions

NOTE: Rescue® 6000 has an auxiliary output red plug. This can be used in place 

of the clamps for vehicles that have plugs.

Determine that the voltage requirement of the vehicle to be started is the same as the 

voltage of the power pack 

NOTE: The voltage is selectable-12V or 24V

Turn OFF all electrical accessories and lights on the vehicle to be started except those 

required for safety reasons

Make certain the power pack blue power plug is disconnected

Connect the red clamp to the positive post of the vehicle battery to be started and the 

black clamp to the negative post or a ground away from the battery

Connect the blue power plug on the Rescue® Power Pack-select 12V or 24V

Start the disabled vehicle

After the vehicle starts disconnect the blue power plug on the Rescue® Power Pack

Disconnect the black and red clamps and store clamps properly

When the Rescue® Power Pack is not in use, keep the charger plugged into the outlet

Inspect the cable/clamp assembly and look for cuts, abrasians or breaks in the cable

¬

  

Check for wron jaws on clamp ends

¬

  

Check for excessive corrosion on all terminal end connections

¬

  

If any of the above problems are found, repair the defective component before using the 

Rescue® Power Pack

To display cart voltage: With the clamps not touching each other, connect the blue power plug. 

The meter will now display the charge level of the internal batteries. Make sure to disconnect 

the blue plug when done. Plug in the AC charger if needed. 

To display vehicle voltage: With the blue power plug disconnected, attach the clamps to the 

dead vehicle. The meter will now display the charge level of the vehicle batteries.
