3 Functionality
RAUCUT I is a precision tool used for the opening and exposing of cut or uncut bundled
polymeric optical fiber cables. Areas of application include, for example, the opening of a
bundled optical fiber shell (insulation):
• To use on cut bundled cable to expose the cutting length
• To use on uncut bundled cables (cutting technique with cable reserve without cutting
bundled fibers)
• To expose the polymeric optical fiber, which is branched off and connected to continuous
run cables (cutting technique without cable reserve without cutting bundled fibers)
Please obey accident prevention regulations!
1. Open knurled screw

2. Measure bundled fiber cable, insert
correct guide size

for bundled cable into
the tool
3. Close knurled screw
4. Clean bundled fiber, measure and mark
cutting area on bundled cable
5. Place the RAUCUT I onto the marking
of the bundled cable and close the tool
handle still the first ratcheting position
(bundled cable stays movable)
6. If an incorrect size of the bundled cable is
selected, the RAUCUT I can be reopened
by using the release lever

7. Move the bundled cable until the markings
become visible
