• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may become a danger-
ous toy for children.
• Handle the product with care; it may be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
• This product is not suitable for industrial use, but only for private use.
b) Installation location
• The product may be used in dry, enclosed indoor areas only; it must not get damp or wet!
Never set up the product in the direct vicinity of a bathroom, shower, bathtub or similar. There
is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight or strong vibra-
tions.
• Completely unwind the mains cable during use. The mains cable must not be pinched or dam-
aged by contact with sharp edges. Do not place any objects on the cable, and do not allow
it to become kinked. Install the cable where no one can stumble over it and the plug is easily
accessible. Do not install the mains cable under carpets or the like.
• Do not operate the device in environments where there are high levels of dust, flammable
gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
c) Handling and use
• Never touch, operate, plug in or unplug the product with damp or wet hands. There is a risk
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the product to the power supply immediately after it has been transferred from
a cold room into a warm one (e.g., during transport). The condensation that develops in such
cases could damage the device or cause an electric shock! Allow the product to reach room
temperature. Wait until the condensation has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only
after this should the product be plugged into the power supply and put into use.
• Always pull a mains plug on the gripping surface intended for this purpose. Never unplug the
mains plug from a mains socket by pulling the cable!
• Do not overload the outlet strip. Observe the connected load in the chapter “Technical Data”.
The product must not be used to power on consumer loads with high starting current (such as
power tools) or too high power consumption (e.g. a kettle)!
• Do not connect in series! This can lead to an overloading of the outlet strip! There is a risk of
fire!
Plug the earthed mains plug of the outlet strip directly, e.g., into a wall socket. Do not connect
other outlet strips to this outlet strip.
• The mains socket (wall socket) at which the outlet strip is connected must be easily acces-
sible.
• Do not operate while it is covered! At higher connected loads, the outlet strip and the connect-
ing cable become warm, which can lead to overheating and potentially a fire if covered!
• Current-free only when the plug is withdrawn!
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g., housing, mains cable, mains switch). There
is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
In this case, dispose of the product in an environmentally correct manner.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of burning,
audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the outlet strip or when the
device will not be in use for a long time.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the risk of causing a fire or a fatal
electric shock. If any liquid has still managed to enter the device, turn off the power supply to
the mains socket at which the outlet strip is connected immediately (turn off the fuse/circuit
breaker/residual current operated circuit breaker of the associated circuits).
Only then can you unplug the mains plug of the outlet strip from the mains socket and contact
a specialist. Do not use the product any longer.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability In-
surance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed!
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions, please con-
tact our technical department or another specialist.
Operating instructions
10-way master/slave outlet strip
Item no. 2541577
Intended use
The 10-way master/slave outlet strip is used to automatically power on up to 9 devices. The consumer loads
connected to the 9 slave sockets are controlled by a consumer load which is connected to the master socket.
The switch-on threshold can be adjusted within a range between approx. 8 - 80 W.
All 10 sockets can be switched on/off via the main switch.
The outlet strip must be connected to an earthed mains socket (wall socket). For connection data and maxi-
mum total power consumption of each connected consumer load, see chapter “Technical Data”.
An integrated voltage surge protection is used to protect the consumer loads that are connected to the outlet
strip from electrical surges in the power grid. Furthermore, the product features an integrated voltage surge
protection for an analogue telephone connection (RJ11 sockets), a PC network (RJ45 sockets) and a TV
aerial socket.
The product may only be used in dry, enclosed spaces.
Always observe the safety instructions included in these operating instructions. Read the operating instruc-
tions carefully; keep them in a safe place and/or pass them on to other users of the outlet strip.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves risks such as
short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or changed!
