Place setting shim between the readhead and the extrusion.
Push the readhead lightly against the shim to set rideheight and align the
readhead mounting holes.
Whilst maintaining light pressure on the readhead, secure the readhead with
2 × M6 screws. Tighten screws to 8 Nm to complete the installation.
Remove the setting shim.
14.4 Set-up shim method
When using this method, remove the alignment
brackets
(see section 14.3.1 on page 17)
prior to installation.
Where access to the readhead from either side is
restricted in the installation position, a setting shim
can be used instead of the alignment brackets to
ensure correct positioning of the readhead relative
to the extrusion. The shim is easily inserted
between the readhead and encoder extrusion.
