If this fireplace is not properly installed, a house fire could result. For your
safety, follow the installation directions. Contact your local authority having
jurisdiction (such as municipal building department or fire department)
regarding restrictions and installation requirements, and the need to obtain a
permit.
To ANYONE using this fireplace: these DO's and DONT's are for your safety.
DO read this instruction manual before lighting your first fire. DO keep these 1.
instructions for future use.
DO burn dry, split, seasoned wood fuel. 2.
To avoid glass breakage, DO NOT slam the fireplace door. 3.
DO NOT use the fireplace with the door closed if the glass is cracked or broken. 4.
Replace the glass before using the glass door again.
DO NOT ever use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter 5.
fluid or similar liquids to start or freshen up a fire. Keep all such liquids well away
from the fireplace while it is in use.
DO NOT use logs that are longer than 22". 6.
DO NOT overfire the fireplace. Burn a maximum of 4 medium logs (5" diameter) 7.
or 3 large logs (6" diameter) at a time. See complete warning on page 34.
DO NOT operate the fireplace with both the firescreen and door open. One of the 8.
two should always be closed while having a fire.
DO operate the fireplace with the door either fully closed or fully open. If the 9.
door is left partly open, it will increase the burn rate and permanently damage the
fireplace.
DO keep all combustible materials (furniture, firewood, etc.) at least 4' away from 10.
