The fan itself does not feature an ON/OFF main switch, an
EMERGENCY STOP device or EMERGENCY OFF device.
Activation and deactivation of the fan must be
realised from the control room and must be
incorporated in the control system of the plant.
Only specialist personnel who have been contracted
by the person responsible for the plant may activate
or deactivate the fan.
In addition, the provisions of the operating company
apply.
Allow the fan to run down unbraked following shutdown.
The control system of the plant in which the fan is installed
must be configured to ensure that no hazards are posed by
shutting down the fan, for example as a result of inflow at
inlet, back pressure or reverse flow at discharge.
Shut-off devices must be installed and incorporated in the
control system of the plant in order to prevent this hazardous
situation.
Upon reactivation of the fan, the original state must be
restored once again.
