An optional framing kit is available for the HZ42STE.
Note:
There are different confi gurations for horizontal exit venting vs vertical
exit venting and options in the framing width to accommodate various thick-
nesses of fi nishing materials.
Determine your installation prior to assembly of this frame kit.
Prior to assembling the framing kit, determine the overall thickness of the
non combustible material plus fi nishing material. Framing must be 20 inches
minus the overall non combustible/fi nishing material.
Example= 2 inches of fi nishing material per side = 16 inches framing width.

. Assemble the 2 (two) vertical ends (

) of the framing kit by securing hori-
zontal studs (

) with 4 (four) screws securing each stud–two on each side.
The horizontal studs (
H
) are adjustable in 1/2" increments to accommodate
fi nishing materials - determine the thickness of the fi nishing materials before
securing the horizontal studs

If installing the unit with horizontal venting–secure the 2 (two) top horizontal
studs using the inner holes–cut the remainder of the stud (repeat at other
end) before proceeding to Step 3.

Install the 2 long horizontal studs, secure with 2 screws on each end - if
installing with horizontal vent exit see Step 4 before installing.
