Indoor Blower Motors
v0.2
3. Connect the two alligator clips from the TECMate to a 24vac source.
(Terminals R and C on most furnaces and air handlers represent 24vac
power and 24vac common respectively). These two wires are not polarity
sensitive. If these wires are connected to 120vac or 240vac, permanent
damage may be done to the motor and the TECMate.
4. Make sure the switch(s) on the TECMate are in the off position.
5. Reconnect the AC power to the system.
The ECM motor can be operationally checked while the blower housing is in or
out of the furnace or air handler, however it is preferred to be in. The motor
should never be operationally checked without the blower wheel attached.
Such operation will cause the motor to oscillate up and down.
