Understanding the types of communication is not as important as understanding how
to set up the system(s) for proper operation and comfort.
The OEM control board and the motor control are already programmed for all of the
airflow and comfort settings needed for properly matched systems.
Using the OEM manuals to understand how to select the airflow and comfort settings
is the key to proper operation, comfort and efficiency.

Set-up at the time of installation is always necessary.
These selections are located on either the interace (tap) board or the main control
board in the air handler.
The OEM charts shown previously along with other set-up information found in the
manufacturers manuals will show how to set the various types of controls (shown
below) for proper airflow, operation, comfort and efficiency.
