Initial commissioning
Note
Do not use sharp tools to remove the protective film on the display. The
display could be scratched.
- Open the REF-CLASS GAUGE case.
- Check the contents of the case for completeness (see scope of delivery).
- Take the REF-CLASS GAUGE out of the case.
- Carefully peel the protective film off the display of the REF-CLASS GAUGE.
- Remove the yellow plastic stopper from the pressure connector for the test specimen;
it can then be disposed of.
Normal operation
Press and hold the ON/OFF button to activate the precision digital manometer. Press
the button again to switch it off. After switching it on, the start screen with the pressure
range and firmware version is displayed for approx. 3 seconds.
Resetting the display to 0: Press and hold the ZERO button.
The precision digital manometer must be set to 0 using the ZERO button prior to every
use.
For maximum efficiency, the spring above the
knurled
nut with counter nut
must have just a bit of play (see
image at the right). When testing test specimens or
reference devices with a small measurement range, you
can shorten the stroke distance by moving the knurled
nut and counter nut upwards. This will result in a lower
pressure or vacuum generated each time the handles
are squeezed and minimize the risk of accidentally
creating overpressure. Afterward, return the knurled nut
and counter nut to the optimal position.
