General Operating Information
Important!
The motor contained in the set is only suitable for operation with a 2-cell LiPo battery (nominal
voltage 7.4 V) or a 4- to 6-cell NiMH battery (nominal voltage 4.8 - 7.2 V).
If you connect a battery with more cells to the speed controller, the speed controller and/or the
motor will be damaged. The warranty will be void!
If you connect a different motor that is suitable for more cells to the speed controller, always
pay attention to the turns of the motor; see table. Furthermore, you must replace the fan on the
speed controller against another version that can function with higher voltages. Non-adherence
will cause damage to the fan and/or speed controller! The warranty will be void!
• When the speed controller is switched on, the green LED flashes corresponding to the number of cells of
the connected LiPo battery (e.g., 2-cell LiPo battery = 2x flashes). A sound signal is emitted as often as
the LED flashes. The speed controller is ready for operation when none of the LEDs flashes afterwards.
• If the speed controller detects an unusual voltage after switching on, it will emit a corresponding warning
sound (2 beeps, 1 second pause, 2 beeps, 1 second pause, etc.).
In this case, check the battery (voltage, charge) and the plug connection between battery and speed
controller.
• If the speed controller detects an erroneous control signal from the receiver after switching on, it will emit a
corresponding warning sound (1 beep, 2 second pause, 1 beep, 2 second pause, etc.).
Check the trim of the throttle lever or leave the throttle lever in the middle position (idle position) when
switching on the speed controller.
• The red LED flashes during forwards and reverse movements or for the corresponding control signal of the
transmitter. The green LED is also on when driving forwards at 100% throttle.
If 100% brake effect is set in menu item 5, the green LED also flashes briefly.
• When changing between forwards and reverse, the throttle must be put briefly into the neutral position
(about 2 seconds). If the throttle is shifted directly from forwards to reverse, the speed controller's brake
will be activated (the vehicle will NOT go backwards!).
• If the drive or brake function is opposite to the movement of the throttle lever at the transmitter, activate the
reverse function at the transmitter or swap any two of the three motor cables.
• If the speed controller is used with a 3-cell LiPo battery (or 7- to 9-cell NiMH battery), the factory-fitted
fan must be replaced by a high-voltage type (see optional accessories on the product web page). Non-
adherence will cause damage to the fan and/or speed controller! The warranty will be void!
• The function of the fan must be checked before and after each drive. This applies in particular when the
vehicle came in contact with water. If in doubt, the fan must be dismounted and cleaned.
• The speed controller switches off the motor for safety reasons, if it gets too hot. In this case, stop driving
and check e.g., the gear transmission and the function of the fan on the speed controller.
• If the speed controller does not detect a rotation speed signal for longer than 0.2 seconds during driving,
the motor is switched off. In this case, check the position of the receiver antenna, the connection between
speed controller and transmitter and the transmitter batteries.
Ending the Operation
First switch off the control unit (bring switch into the "OFF" position). Then, disconnect the battery from the
speed controller. Only now do you turn off the transmitter.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household waste. Dispose of
an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
