• Note the direction arrow.
• Only use recommended, reinforced cutting wheels
and only tighten the shaft screw (D) until the cutting
wheel (15) can be held securely and not slip.
• If the shaft screw (D) is tightened too far, the wheel
can be damaged.
• Turn the side guard (B) for the cutting-off wheel
back to the front and fasten in place with the nut
(C).
• Unhook the guard for the cutting-off wheel, so that
the adjustable guard (6) can be flipped forward
again.
Electrical connection
The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies
with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions. The
customer‘s mains connection as well as the ex
-
tension cable used must also comply with these
regulations.
Important information
In the event of an overloading the motor will switch
itself off. After a cool-down period (time varies) the
motor can be switched back on again.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Passage points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been improper-
ly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation
damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Make sure that the connection cable does
not hang on the power network during the inspection.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
applicable
VDE and DIN provisions. Only use connection cables
with the marking H07RN-F.
The printing of the type designation on the connec-
tion cable is mandatory.
AC motor
• The mains voltage must be 230 V~.
• Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a
cross-section of 1.5 mm
2
.
•
Press down the handle (4) firmly and evenly during
the cutting operation.
• To prevent overheating of the workpiece and ex-
cessive formation of burr, you should not reduce
cutting speed at the end of the cutting operation.
• Note: The number of cuts per cutting-off wheel and
their quality may vary considerably with the time
taken to make the cuts. Fast cuts may accelerate
wheel wear, but they also prevent discoloring of the
workpiece and the formation of burr.
11.5 Mitre cuts (Fig. 3)
In order to perform mitre cuts, the vice can be adjust-
ed from 0° - 45°.
• Slacken the two screws (A).
• Turn the vice’s clamping jaw (7) to the required an-
gle.
• Retighten the screws (A).
•
When you clamp the workpiece, the flexible clamp
-
ing jaw (6) will automatically swing into the correct
position and align itself with the workpiece in order
to ensure that the workpiece is safely fastened.
11.6 Adjusting the stop screw (Fig. 1/7)
The downward movement of the cutting-off wheel
can be adjusted with the cutting depth adjusting
screw (16).
This is necessary to compensate wheel wear – as
the cutting-off wheel becomes smaller in diameter it
would no longer be able to cut right through the work-
piece.
• Undo the lock nut (17).
• Turn the cutting depth adjusting screw (16) in or out
as required.
• Lower the saw head (1) to check whether the cutting
wheel (15) reaches the clamping jaw of the vice.
• Retighten the lock nut (17).
11.7 Replacing the cutting-off wheel (Fig. 5/6)
•
Pull out the power plug
• Move the machine head (1) to its upper position of
rest.
• Push the mobile cutting wheel cover (10) upwards
and hook in.
• Open the nut (C) and turn the side guard (B) the
cutting-off wheel to the rear.
• Push the shaft locking mechanism (9) to the right
and turn the cutting wheel (15) slowly by hand until
the shaft locking mechanism (9) engages.
• Use the Allen key (13) supplied to unscrew the shaft
screw (D) clockwise.
•
Remove the shaft screw (D), washer, outer flange
and worn cutting wheel (15).
• Install the new cutting-off wheel in reverse order
and tighten.
•
Important
: The parts under the screw have to be
thoroughly cleaned prior to mounting the cutting-off
wheel.
