It is not recommended to put clothes on immediately after ironing, because warm fabric tends
to form folds quickly. Place it upon the hangers for half an hour, and it will keep its form much
better.
•
It is better to iron wool parts (rugs) when they are wetted, from the inside, via wetted fabric.
•
Silk stockinet and bed furnishing is to be obligatory ironed from the inner side being dry or
slightly underdried, or it can loose the shape.
•
Viscose fabrics are to be ironed only when they are dry, in order to prevent forming of
spots.
•
Only absolutely clean linen is to be iron, because the iron will reveal even the spots, which
were not noticeable before that.
•
One should iron with slow motions with strong pressing upon the iron.
•
Before ironing sort the things by groups depending from ironing temperature: wool, cotton,
etc.
•
The iron is heating faster than cooling. We recommend to start ironing from the things,
which require the most low temperature, for instance, things made of synthetic fabrics, with
gradual transition to higher temperatures.
•
For fabrics with mixed fibers select ironing temperature, this is the smallest for fibers that
are contained in the given fabric. For instance, for fabrics, which contain “65% of polyester
and 45% of cotton” ironing is to be carried out at temperature indicated for polyester.
