11. Test fit the wing into the fuselage. Make sure it
sits tight and parallel with horizontal stab. Sand
wing saddle in fuselage to fit if needed.
12. Turn the fuselage upside down. Install the wing
onto the wing saddle. Measure the distance from the
tip of the tail to the each tip of the wing and make
them equal. Using bolt support plate holes as a
guide and #20 0.161” drill bit, drill two holes
through the wing and WB block underneath it. Tap
WB block’s holes with 10-32 tap and harden with
Thin CA. Enlarge holes in the wing with #10 0.193
drill bit.
13. Locate two precut 1/32” birch ply fairings.
Cover center of the wing with wax paper. Put
fairings and fuselage on. Trim if necessary and glue
them in place.
14. Using 1/8” leftover balsa, sheet the space
between fairings and the fuselage and shape with
round sand stick.
15. Bolt the wing onto fuselage. Glue two pieces of
the air scoop to the fuselage and the wing. Make
sure you have a space in between them that let you
connect and disconnect the wing. Drill holes for
bolts access. Shape the gap between two halves.
16. Cut opening for a muffler. We are using J'tec
in-cowl muffler for better scale appearance.
