2. Using plan as a guide draw a line 3/32” from the
edge of sheeting and mark locations and angle of
the ribs. Glue ribs and subleading edge in place. Cut
control horn plate from 1/8” leftover balsa and glue
according to the plans. Sand subleading edge and
bevel sheeting edge to match ribs shape.
3. Glue top sheeting
4. Locate precut 1/8” aileron leading edge and glue
it in place. Draw a center line in the length of the
aileron. Shape the leading edge of the aileron to
triangle shape.
6. Mark aileron and stab hinge locations according
to the plans and slot them.
Build the Air scoop
1. Locate precut air scoop 1/8” balsa formers SF1 –
SF-4 and 1/4” x 1/4” balsa stick.
2. Put a wax paper over air scoop plan. Cut 1/4" balsa
sticks according to the plan, spray them with Windex to
make them more flexible and pin bottom ones to the
building board. Glue formers according to the plan at
appropriate
angles. Put 1/16” leftover balsa in between
of two middle formers to create some a gap. Make sure
not to glue this spacer permanently.
