Figure 4-25. Package Group Details
4.25. Preparing to Install
A screen preparing you for the installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux now appears.
For your reference, a complete log of your installation can be found in
/root/install.log
once
you reboot your system.
Warning
If, for some reason, you would rather not continue with the installation process, this is your last
opportunity to safely cancel the process and reboot your machine. Once you press the
Next
button,
partitions will be written and packages will be installed. If you wish to abort the installation, you should
reboot now before any existing information on any hard drive is rewritten.
To cancel this installation process, press your computer’s Reset button or use the [Control]-[Alt]-
[Delete] key combination to restart your machine.
4.26. Installing Packages
At this point there is nothing left for you to do until all the packages have been installed. How quickly
this happens depends on the number of packages you have selected and your computer’s speed.
4.27. Video Card Configuration
The installation program now presents a list of video cards for you to choose from.
If you decided to install the X Window System packages, you now have the opportunity to configure
an X server for your system. If you did not choose to install the X Window System packages, skip
ahead to Section 4.25
Preparing to Install
.
If your video card does not appear on the list (refer to Figure 4-26), X may not support it. However,
if you have technical knowledge about your card, you may choose
Unlisted Card
and attempt to
configure it by matching your card’s video chipset with one of the available X servers.
