There are two internal batteries that keep the Freezer Alert running when city power is
lost. The batteries last for 24 hours or more. When they are exhausted, they must be
replaced with CR123A cells which are available at Walmart.
Testing the City Power Alarm.
Unplug the wall transformer from the power receptacle. The display should go
dim as the unit starts to conserve battery power. After two minutes, you should
receive a text message alarm.

Loss of city power is a critical failure. The
Informant contains two Lithium batteries
that automatically keep the Informant run-
ning when city power fails.
When power fails, text message alarms are
sent and the event is logged.

black outs.
