The Remote Control
INPUT button
Repeatedly press to select the TV tuner, or line inputs (
LINE 1
for the rear LINE IN/
IN1 jacks,
LINE 3
for the rear LINE IN/IN3 jacks,
LINE 2
for the front VIDEO, L/MONO, R jacks or
COMPONENT
for the COMPONENT jacks).
L.E.D.
(light-emitting diode) The little light on the remote that lights when you are programming the
remote. It also lights when you press a valid button on the remote.
MENU
button
Displays the TV/VCR’s main
MENU

MUTE button
Lowers the TV volume to its minimum level and automatically turns on closed-
captioning. Press again to restore volume and turn off closed-captioning.
ON•OFF button
Turns the TV on and off. If the remote is in another component mode (VCR, DVD,
SAT•CABLE, etc.) and has been programmed to operate other components, press the ON•OFF button
to turn that component on and off.
PAUSE button
Pauses a tape or disc during playback, if you’ve programmed the remote to operate
a VCR or DVD Player and you put the remote in the VCR or DVD mode.
PIP (Picture-In-Picture)
Brings up the small Picture-In-Picture window. Press again to remove the
PIP window.
PLAY button
Plays a tape or disc, if you’ve programmed the remote to operate a VCR or DVD
Player and you put the remote in the VCR or DVD mode.
RECORD button
Starts VCR recording if you’ve programmed the remote to operate your VCR and
you put the remote in VCR mode.
RESET
Returns the TV’s settings to default settings.
REVERSE button
Rewinds a tape or disc, if you’ve programmed the remote to operate a VCR or
DVD Player and you put the remote in the VCR or DVD mode.
SAT•CABLE button
Puts remote in cable or satellite mode.
SKIP button
Press once before changing channels and the TV will wait 30 seconds before returning
you to the original channel. Press repeatedly to add more time.
SOUND button
Press to select stereo, SAP, or mono audio.
STOP button
Stops the following playback functions: record, play, rewind, fast forward, and
pause – if you’ve programmed the remote to operate a VCR or DVD Player and you put the remote in
the VCR or DVD mode.
SWAP
Used with PIP — switches between the main picture and the picture in the PIP window.
TV button
Turns on the TV and puts remote in TV mode.
VCR1
Puts the remote in VCR mode, if you’ve programmed the remote to operate a VCR. Operate
most RCA, GE, and Proscan VCRs.
VCR2
Puts the remote in VCR mode, if you’ve programmed the remote to operate a VCR.
VOL (< and >) buttons
Decrease or increase the TV volume.
