The Buttons on the Remote Control
0-9 (Number buttons)
Enter channel numbers and time settings directly through the remote control. This
button can also be used to select numbered menu items directly.
To enter a two-digit channel, press the two digits. To enter a three-digit channel, press and hold the first digit
for two seconds until two dashes appear to the right of the number, then add the second two. Example: to
tune to channel 123, press and hold 1 for two seconds, press 2, then press 3.
CHAN (up and down) buttons
Scan up or down through the current channel list. Press once to change the
channel up or down; press and hold to continue changing channels. Also used as up and down arrows in the
menu system.
CLEAR
Removes any menu or display from the screen and returns you to TV viewing. Also cancels the SKIP timer.
DISPLAY
Brings up available channel information. This button is also referred to as INFO in the TV’s menu system.
INPUT
Changes your TV to its video input channel. The Video Input Channel is the channel your TV must
tune to in order for you to access a component that’s connected to your TV’s VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN jacks.
Example: to view a tape from your camcorder, connect the camcorder to the TV’s AUDIO and VIDEO jacks
with the audio/video cables.
MENU
Brings up the Main menu. When in the menu system, selects highlighted items or returns you to the
previous menu.
MUTE
Lowers the volume to its minimum level. Press again to restore volume.
POWER
Turns the TV on and off.
PREV CH
Returns you to the previous channel.
RESET
When viewing video, brings up the
Pictures Presets
menu and sets the picture quality controls to the
Bright
setting. Use the number buttons to choose a different picture preset. In the TV’s menu system, this
button also returns the settings of the menu you’re in back to its factory defaults.
SKIP (Commercial Skip)
Press once before changing channels. The TV will wait 30 seconds before returning
you to the original channel. Press again to add more time. Press CLEAR to cancel the SKIP timer.
VOL – or VOL +
Decreases or increases the TV’s volume. Also used as left and right arrows in the menu system.
