USING AN EARPHONE

For private listening, you can connect an
optional earphone with a

/

-inch (3.5 mm)

plug to the

EARPHONE

 jack on the back.

This automatically mutes the built-in
speaker.

To protect your hearing, follow these
guidelines when you use earphones.

• Set the volume to the lowest setting

before you begin listening. After you
begin listening, adjust the volume to a
comfortable level.

• Do not listen at extremely high volume

levels. Extended high-volume listening
can lead to permanent hearing loss.

• Once you set the volume, do not

increase it. Over time, your ears adapt
to the volume level, so a volume level
that does not cause discomfort might
still damage your hearing.

USING THE AV IN JACK

The

AV IN

jack on the back of the TV lets you

connect a VCR, camcorder, or VCD to the
TV. To connect the video equipment to the
TV, you need an Audio/Video adapter plug.
(We recommend RadioShack Cat. No.

42-

2475, not supplied.)

Connect the cable’s red plug into the
component’s video output jack and its white
plug into the component’s audio output
jack. Then, plug the cable’s black mini plug
into the TV’s

AV IN

 jack. The TV

automatically switches to the AV mode.
When you disconnect the video source's
signal cord, the TV automatically returns to
the TV mode.
