5.2 Clamp Design
The SpeedRay™ 1000 antenna clamps
onto a vehicle’s roof rack crossbars with
an adjustable, padded clamping system
designed to secure the unit onto the fixed
crossbars (Figure 5-).
Installers should
confirm good condition of the roof rack
and crossbars before installing the
antenna.
5.1 Shipping Restraint Bolt
1. Place the antenna on a flat cushioned
surface, such as a table top, and remove the
shipping restraint bolt located under the
antenna (Figure 5-1). Be sure to replace
the shipping restraint bolt with the webring
plug.

Be sure to use only the
hardware provided in the
hardware kit. Substituting any hardware
or making any modifications may result
in an improper and unsafe installation.
Install all hardware according to this
guide.
TOOLS & INSTALLATION
Use a towel or moving cloth to
protect the roof of the vehicle
while installing the antenna.

. There are two different size bracket
spacers provided with the antenna. The
1.cm spacer comes installed between the
bracket and antenna for ready-to-mount
capability. An alternate .5cm spacer
is also provided in the kit for higher
placement of the antenna onto the crossbars
in appropriate conditions (Figure 5-).
