Intended Use
The car subwoofer is intended for the conversion of electrical signals from caramplifiers to audi-
ble sound waves.
It may only be connected to the loudspeaker outputs on such devices.
It is only suitable for use inside a car; do not use outdoors. Direct contact with moisture, drips or
water spray must be avoided at all times.
Any other use than the one described above may lead to damage to the subwoofer and involves
other risks, such as short-circuits, fire, etc.
No part of the product must be modified or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with all current National and European requirements.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions.
We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will
be void in such cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in the oper-
ating instructions. Please read all the instructions before using this device,
they include important information on its correct operation.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to the product is not per-
mitted.
• Do not expose the subwoofer to high temperatures, drips or water spray, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects filled with liquid on top of
them.
• Do not place naked flames such as burning candles on top of the device.
• When connecting the subwoofer, consult the safety instructions of the device to which it is to
be connected.
• Do not place any magnetic storage media such as floppy disks or video cassettes close to the
subwoofer, as the subwoofer’s magnetic field may corrupt data stored on such storage media.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hear-
ing.
• Excessive volume inside a car may result in you not hearing acoustic warning signals. This
constitutes a danger to yourself and to other road users. Therefore, ensure the volume is at a
suitable level.
• Lack of attention in traffic can lead to serious accidents. Therefore, only use the hi-fi system
when the traffic situation permits and you will not be unduly distracted by operating the system.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are
not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service or
another specialist.
Product Description
The car subwoofer has the following features:
• Bass-reflex principle
• 12“ subwoofer chassis
• Sturdy felt cover
• 2 sturdy loudspeaker protection bars
Installation
Modifications to the vehicle, which are made necessary due to the installation
of the subwoofer, must always be carried out in such a manner that neither the
traffic safety nor the designed stability of the car is impaired. With many vehi-
cles, the MOT will be void, if you cut out a section of the sheet metal.
If you are in doubt about where to install the device, consult your car dealer.
Before drilling, make sure that this will not lead to any damage to electric
cables, brake leads, the fuel tank or similar.
When using tools to install your car’s hi-fi components, follow the manufactur-
er’s safety instructions.
When installing the subwoofer or your hi-fi system, please take into account
the risk of injury that can arise from devices being torn away in the event of an
accident. Therefore, you should secure each component in a place where it
cannot pose a risk to passengers.

• Select a place suitable for installing the subwoofer.
• Attach the speaker casing with straps or similar fixings. The fixing must also be able to support
the load of the speaker in case of an emergency stop or an accident.
• The boot is a suitable place for installation.
Connection
To avoid short circuits and any resulting damage, the negative terminal (earth)
of the car battery must first be disconnected.
Before reconnecting the negative terminal to the battery, ensure that the device
has been completely connected.
Only use a volt meter, or a diode test lamp, to check the voltage of the vehicle
system leads, as normal test lamps consume excessive voltage and may thus
damage the vehicle’s electronics.
When connecting the subwoofer, make sure that the connection cables are not
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
The loudspeakers may only be connected to suitable loudspeaker outputs on a
caramplifier.
Make sure the impedance and power rating indicated in the technical data com-
plies with the data for the amplifier connected. Otherwise, damage to the sub-
woofer or the amplifier can occur.
In order to ensure clear playback, you must operate the subwoofer via an amplifier with an active
switch, which ensures:
• that there is sufficient output
• that the subwoofer is only supplied with the bottom bass range of the music signals
• Depending on the vehicle, set the crossover frequency for the active switch to between 80
and 120 Hz.
Connect the subwoofer’s loudspeaker lead to the loudspeaker connection terminal on the sub-
woofer amplifier:
• red terminal, or the terminal labelled with „+“ >positive loudspeaker connection
• black terminal or the terminal labelled with „-“ > negative loudspeaker connection
Maintenance and Care
The subwoofer is maintenance-free.
Clean the outside of the product with soft, dry cloth or brush or a vacuum cleaner.
Never use aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solvents since these might damage the
product.
Do not touch the surface of the sensitive diaphragm.
Disposal
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
