Depending on the Phone System, it may take some time for the Rath emergency phone to hang-up. To

force the Rath phone to hang-up immediately, the called party should press * then # before hanging up.

Suggested Ongoing Maintenance of the Unit:

Rath recommends that the Emergency Call Station be tested and maintained on a monthly basis to ensure

proper operation. For testing, follow the procedure outlined in Testing of the Phone.

Using a soft brush, immediately clear the solar panel of all foreign material including snow.

Rath recommends that the 12 volt battery be replaced every 2 years.

Do you hear a dial tone?
Does the Strobe start flashing immediately when button was pushed?
Does red LED become a solid light when you pushed the button?
Does the red LED flash and a short time after (15-20 seconds) the called party started talking

to you? (Delay is due to phone telling other party your location via the “Location Message”)
Can you hear the other party clearly? (if no, see “Adjust Speaker” section below)
Can the other party hear you clearly? (If no, see “Adjust Microphone section below)
When the party you called hangs up, does the strobe stop? (if no, see hang-up instructions)
