Heating Water Requirements
When topping up the heating system with water, please
observe VDI 2035 Page 1, which specified the maximum
amount of the supplementary water.
A
Heat generator with system capacity of up to 100 kW:
Water with a carbonate hardness of up to 3 mol/m³
(16.8° dH) is suitable for filling. With harder water
perform hardness complexing or softening to prevent
the formation of scale (see VDI 2035).
B
Heat generator with a system capacity between 100
and 1000 kW:
Water with a carbonate hardness of up to 2.0 mol/m3
(11.2° dH) is suitable for filling. With harder water the
description under A for filling water shall apply. An
inhibitation (VDI 2035; Section 8.2.1.) is particularly
recommended for larger systems.
Heating water (circulation water): For open heating
systems with two safety lines, in which the heating water
circulates through the expansion vessel, oxygen-binding
chemicals (VDI 2035) must be added, whereby an
adequate excess in the return line must be guaranteed
throughout regular checks. None of the systems of this
group requires any measures to monitor the composition
of the heating water.

Commissioning
Commissioning of the unit as well as instruction of the
user must be performed by a specialist.
•
Fill the heating system up to the required water level or
pressure and bleed it after. In case of open systems
according to DIN 4751 Part 1 and an overall water
hardness of more than 15° dH a repeated addition of
multiple-component products or complexing agents is
recommended. The respective instructions for use
must be observed.
•
Open shut-off valves of the oil or gas supply line.
•
Switch on main switch.
•
Set boiler temperature regulator to the desired boiler
temperature. Set boiler temperature appropriately in
conjunction with the heating control system
rapidomatic
®
.
•
Check heating pumps and check their function.
•
Set up burner according to the instructions of the
manufacturer, under due consideration of boiler
capacity and specified combustion data.
•
Heat up the system.
•
Check function and proper setting of all control,
regulating and monitoring equipment.
•
In case of water deficiency fill up with water after the
boiler has cooled down.
•
Familiarize the user with the operation of the system.
6
Shutting down the System
•
Switch off main switch.
•
Close oil or gas line.
7
Danger of Frost
When the heating operation is interrupted for a
longer period of time during the winter, the entire
heating system, including the boiler, must be
completely emptied. Please check that the drain
tap is not clogged by dirt. The drain tap must
remain open until filling the system.
