MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
REMOVAL, SHARPENING &
REINSTALLATION OF CHIPPER BLADE
HOW TO REMOVE THE KNIFE
ATTENTION! Always wear safety gloves when working with blades. This machine is equipped with two
reversible blades. When they lose their edge the blades can be turned to use the second edge. When
the second edge is spent they have to be replaced. If you no
tic
e an increase in vib

to the cu
tti
ng edges being worn, you will also no
ti
ce that your cut material is in long strips when the
blades are dull or worn.
REPLACEMENT OF THE ANVIL
The Anvil is also reversible. When the edge of the Anvil is worn
it can be rotated. When both edges are worn, the Anvil must be replaced.
The space between the blade and the anvil should always be 1mm.
BLADE SHARPENING
You should never attempt to sharpen the chipper blade.
It is extremely important that the 45° angle be maintained consistently for proper
performance.
The chipper blade should be taken to a machine shop for proper sharpening.
Excessive heat generated during the sharpening process will damage blades and weaken
the metal.
