Again,afterallowingabout30secondsforthatsequencetorun,presstheDirection
buttononemoretimetotriggerthefourthandfinalFYSsequence. TheFYSwill
continue,andwithinafewseconds,theenginewillstartandmoveoutonitsownat
thecurrentthrottlesetting,inthesamedirectionitwastravelingwhenyoubeganthe
sequence. Oncethebellturnsoff,theoperatorregainscontrolofthetransformer's
BellandWhistlebuttonsandcanringthebellorblowthewhistleasusual.
YoucanterminateFYSatanytimebyturningoffpowertothetrackfor15
seconds.
YoudonothavetobeinForwardtouseFYS. Attheconclusionofthefull
sequence,thetrainwillpullawayfromthestationinwhateverdirectionyou
weregoingwhenyouactivatedthefeature.
YoucanuseFYSevenifyouaredouble-headingwithanotherengine.Ifthe
secondengineisnotequippedwithProto-Sound2.0,youmustremembernot
toleavethethrottleatahighvoltagelevelonceyouhavestoppedtheengineto
runtheFYS. Otherwise,theenginewithoutFYSwillbeginvibratingonthe
trackasitsmotorsstraintomovethetrain,sincetheycannotbeautomatically
disabledduringtheFYScycle(orifanoriginalProto-Soundengine,FYSare
triggereddifferentlyandthatengine'smotor-disablefeaturewillnotbeactive
whenyourunFYSinProto-Sound2.0).
FYScanbetriggeredfromNeutral. Itwilloperatethesameasiftriggered
whileinmotionexceptthat,attheconclusionoftheFYS,theenginewill
departinthenextdirectionoftravel,asopposedtothedirectionitwas
travelingbeforeenteringNeutral.
Thislocomotiveisequippedwithoneormorecoil-woundProto-Couplersforremote
uncouplingaction. BecauseProto-CouplersarecontrolledthroughtheProto-Sound2.0
microprocessor,theydonotrequireanuncouplingtracksectionormodificationtoyour
layouttofunction.Youcanfireacouplerfromneutralorwhileinmotion. Usethecode
shownbelow(andinthechartonpage8)tofirethecoupler(s).
Tofiretherearcoupler,quicklytaptheBellbuttononcefollowedbythreequicktapsof
theWhistlebutton,allowingapproximately½secondtolapsebetweeneachquickbutton
press. Thesoundoftheliftbarandairlinedepletionwillplay,andtheknucklewillbe
released.
