on proper use and treatment and timely fixing of
shortcomings. During preparation of the machine
for operation the following procedures must be
followed:
- unpacking of the machine and its basic parts;
- assembly and installation of the parts;
- set up of the machine;
- tightening of the belts;
- adjustment and installation of the knives ;
- start of the machine .
It is forbidden to start operating the machine
without carefully reading “Security Directions”.
5.1 UNPACKING OF THE MACHINE AND ITS
BASIC PARTS
Open up the packaging box and take out the
machine and its basic parts.
All surfaces, covered with conservation lubricant,
must be wiped with cloth soaked in white spirit and
then dried.
Identify the parts of the machine using Table .2 and
pictures 1, 2, 3, 4.
5.2 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION OF THE
PARTS (Pic.1)
5.2.1 Installation of the upper table moving device
Upper table moving device Pos. 114 of a new
machine is in transportation position.
In order to install it, one needs:
- Turn it upwards following the arrow and align the
hole in a movable upper table Pos. 104 with the
hole on a bracket of the moving device;
- Fix it with the help of screws and nuts Pos. 26
and Pos. 27;
- Tighten the screws Pos. 115
5.2.2 Assembly and Installation of protective
guards
It is necessary to install the two guards included in
the set of the machine.
Protective guard Pos. 3 is designated to guard from
the revolving outer shaft’s end during operation of
the machine.
The guard is installed on a plastic housing of the
saw blade with the help of hooks on the guard by
pushing the guard downwards. The guard must be
permanently installed on the machine unless the
outer shaft’s end is used for sawing or milling.
Protective guard Pos. 2 is designated to guard
from the revolving set of knives during operation of
the machine Pos. 113.
In order to install the guard Pos. 2 it is necessary to
firstly insert the crampon Pos. 25 into the bracket
Pos. 108 and fix the bracket by screw and washer
Pos. 23, Pos. 24. Then one needs to let the guard
Pos. 2 through the groove in the bracket Pos. 108.
Finally, the position of the guard must be fixed by
tightening the thumbscrew Pos. 23.
During planing of the material to the incomplete
width, the guard must be installed (pushed back)
to the necessary planing width.
In order to install the guard to the needed position,
one needs to unscrew the thumbscrew Pos.23,
shift the guard along the axel knife and tighten the
thumbscrew again.
After work or during breaks, the guard must fully
cover the axel knife.
The guard Pos. 2 may be moved to a "no work
"position (see. Pic. 2, Pic. 3).
In order to shift the guard Pos. 2 to “no work”position,
it is necessary to loosen the clip Pos. 109. Both the
bracket Pos. 108 and the guard Pos. 2 must be
slightly moved upwards and anticlockwise by 90
°
,
then shifted downwards to the stop. Finally the clip
must be tightened Pos. 109.
5.2.3 Assembly of saw-dust collector
Use the screws Pos. 11 to attach the housing Pos.
5 to the dust collector Pos. 4.
Housing Pos. 5 can be used to connect the
machine to the outer ventilation.
If the machine is used in planer’s (jointer’s) mode,
saw-dust collector must be installed under the
upper table (see. Pic.1).
If the machine is used in the thicknesser’s mode,
the dust collector must be installed above the
upper table (see. Pic. 3).
5.2.4 Assembly of the guiding planer’s ruler
Place the planer’s ruler Pos. 7 on the base Pos. 6.
Fix them using screws pos. 13, washers Pos. 14,
Pos. 15 and nuts Pos. 16.
5.3 INSTALLATION OF THE MACHINE (Pic. 1)
Prepare an even, firm, flat surface, free of any
objects.
Check the integrity of body parts, proper assembly
of separate parts, make sure the bolts, screws
and nuts are tightened and properly guarded
by stoppers; ensure the power cable , plug and
socket have no damage and that the protective
guards are in place.
The machine can be placed on a workbench and
fixed using screws through the holes in the legs of
