2-3. Installation of Universal RAID Utility (Linux/VMware)
This paragraph describes the procedure of installation of URU.
Please refer to "Universal RAID Utility Ver2.3 User’s Guide" (The file name: uru23eug.pdf - uru23eugc.pdf,
contain in ¥doc¥EN¥) for the method of installing the URU Ver2.31 or later.
There may be the case that URU has been already installed in your computer. Please check whether URU
must be installed or not by the following procedure.
Confirmation of version of URU
Use the following command from terminal and confirm the version of URU.
# rpm -q UniversalRaidUtility
UniversalRaidUtility-x.xx-x ("x.xx-xx" is version of URU)
When not installing URU, the following message is displayed.
# rpm -q UniversalRaidUtility
package UniversalRaidUtility is not installed
The version is older than 2.31 or the file does not exit.
Install URU Ver2.31 or later.
The version is 2.31 or later:
The proper version of URU is already installed.
Tips
The following message may be displayed depending on the version of URU after uninstalling
Linux version of URU. The uninstallation is finished successfully even if that is the case.
When the uninstallation is successfully finished, the package of "UniversalRaidUtility-x.xx-y"
(x.xx is version of URU and y is revision of URU) and the package that controls the RAID
controller will be uninstalled. Confirm the uninstallation result of URU using the rpm
command as follows.

/opt/Promise/WebPAMPRO/Agent/bin/bgasched: no process killed
/opt/Promise/WebPAMPRO/Agent/bin/prevtlogd: no process killed
# rpm -q UniversalRaidUtility
package UniversalRaidUtility is not installed
# rpm -q WebPAMPRO_Agent
package WebPAMPRO_Agent is not installed
