Multiple Receiver Operation
With the WiNRADiO
Excalibur Sigma
you can tune to three stations at once,
listening to one (or all of them mixed together). Listen to one while recording
the others (into separate files).
The only condition is that all of these frequencies must fit inside the DDC1
bandwidth. The DDC1 bandwidth is selectable using the
DDC BW
control
above the DDC1 spectrum.
You can select one of the three receivers by clicking on the associated tab
above the main frequency display:
The same tuning procedure applies for all three receivers. For example you
can type the frequency directly into the keyboard, use the tuning knob, etc. If
the new frequency is such that the existing DDC1 bandwidth 'cannot
accommodate' this new frequency while keeping the other receivers tuned to
their existing frequencies, the software will “dump” (disable) one or both of the
other two receivers. This gives priority to the currently selected receiver,
except when one of the other receivers is currently recording or its frequency
is “locked” by the user. In such a case, the new frequency will not be accepted
and the recording or lock indicators inside the other receivers’ tabs will flash to
indicate this situation. You will either need to manually stop the recording or
unlock the locked receivers.
The receivers can be locked by using the
Lock
button
located above the
demodulator spectrum (DDC2). Each receiver can be locked separately.
If a receiver is locked, a “lock” symbol will appear in the bottom-left corner of
its associated tab:
If you are currently recording the DDC1 spectrum using the DDC recorder, it
will be impossible to tune any of the three receivers to any frequency outside
