• The telephone company charges to install the necessary

jacks.

• The USOC number of the jack to be installed is RJ14C

(or RJ14W for a wall plate jack).

• After you install the adapter, check to be sure there is a

dial tone. If there is not, disconnect the cords and re-
install the adapter.

POWERING THE ADAPTER

You can power the adapter from internal batteries or stan-
dard AC power (using an optional AC adapter).

Note: Connecting an optional adapter disconnects internal
batteries.

Using Batteries

Your adapter can use six AA batteries (not supplied) for pow-
er. We recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack
Cat. No. 23-552.
