If you are using an answering machine and do not want to
record the beep, set the

 

switch away from 

CALL ALERT

 and

press 

RESET

 (located next to the 

DC 9V

 jack) to turn off the

beep. 

To turn on the beep again, set the switch to 

CALL ALERT 

and

press 

RESET

.

Note: After you set the switch to 

CALL ALERT

 and press 

RE-

SET

, check to be sure there is a dial tone. If there is not, re-

peat the procedure.

PUTTING A LINE ON HOLD

Press * twice to put the current line on hold while you answer
or make a call on the other line. Music (Beethoven’s 

Fur

Elise) plays on the line while it is on hold.
