Notes:
• You can use the scanner’s delay feature while searching
the service banks, see “Delay” on Page 42.
• The following steps show you how to listen to the HAM,
FD/PD, CAR, and AIR service banks. To listen to the MRN
bank, see “Listening to the Marine Bank” on Page 35.
1. Press
BAND
. The last selected band name (such as
HAM
),
SRCH
,
-b-
, frequency and the group number (if
any) appear.
Note:
-b-
does not appear if the CAR service bank is
selected.
2. To select a different band, repeatedly press
BAND
until the
desired band name appears on the display. After about 2
seconds, the scanner begins searching rapidly in that band
for an active frequency.

• To search up or down the band in small increments,
repeatedly press

3. If necessary, select a search group from the list with “Ser-
vice Banks” on Page 21 then use the number keys to enter
the desired search group. The scanner searches for an
active frequency.
4. When the scanner finds an active frequency, it stops
searching and displays the frequency’s number. To store
the displayed frequency in the lowest available channel,
press
PGM
then
ENT
. The channel and frequency flash
twice, and the scanner stores the displayed frequency. The
scanner then continues to search for frequencies.
