The Q smoke 5.5R is an optical smoke detector for the protection of persons.
In the event of fi re, deadly smoke spreads quickly and often unnoticed throughout the
home. The smoke detector gives an early warning of the deadly fumes.
Thanks to the new smoke detector technology, false-alarm-proof smoke detection in the
event of temperature fl uctuations is achieved. The detector automatically adapts to nor-
mal changes in its environment and thus guarantees a constant response sensitivity.
The smoke detector can reliably detect fi re smoke even in diffi cult environmental condi-
tions such as frost-free cellars and attics and in stairwells.
The typical life span of the smoke detector is 10 years.
If in the event of fi re or smoke detection, an alarm is forwarded to the Fire brigade

even required, a fi re detection panel according to DIN 14675 must be used.
This operating manual is part of the smoke detector. Please read the document carefully
and keep it for the entire life of the device. If you are moving, please pass on the instruc-
tions to subsequent users.

The smoke detector may only be installed and commissioned at an ambient
temperature of
at least 10 °C and at a maximum of 40 °C
. The smoke detector
may only be installed and commissioned at an ambient and device temperature of
at least 10 °C and at a maximum of 40 °C. Otherwise the required self-test cannot
be carried out!
Confi rmation of successful commissioning is mandatory (4 sequences of two short
tones; reduced signal tone within one second).

Installation of the mounting plate using the supplied mounting material or optionally with
the adhesive pad (The use of the adhesive pad is at your own risk).

Place the smoke detector on the mounting plate and turn clockwise until it engages
(15°).
