Model QT-710/720 Radiographic Table
Chapter 3 Assembly & Installation
20
2. With the collimator parallel to the table top (0° rotation angle), turn on the
collimator light.
3. Using the light field adjustment controls on the collimator, reduce the light
field to a narrow beam of light along the length of the table.
4. Position collimator to approximately 24 inches source-to-image distance
(SID).
5. Insert a 14" x 17" film cassette into the cassette tray.
6. Turn on the collimator light and move the entire table so that the longitudi-
nal center line on the cassette (i.e., the line parallel with length of table) is
properly aligned with the narrow beam of light (see Figure 12).
7. Move the tubestand and Receptor Cabinet simultaneously to check for con-
tinuous alignment of the narrow beam of light and the cassette center line.
8. If the light beam and cassette center line are in proper alignment, verify
that table is level. Place a level on the Tabletop Assembly. If the table is
not perfectly level, insert shims (flat washers) between Table Leg(s) and
floor as required until the table is level.
9. Mount the Table Legs to the floor through the 3/8" diameter holes (be sure
that the leveling washers are in the proper position). Use hardware suit-
able for the type of floor construction and of sufficient strength to handle
100 lb. pull-load.
10. Position the collimator at 40" SID. Position the cassette tray handle so it
protrudes over the front opening.
11. Turn on the collimator light.
12. Check for proper alignment of the centering light (emitted by the collima-
tor) with the notch in the cassette tray handle. If misaligned, refer to the
collimator manual for alignment procedures.
FINAL INSTALLATION
1. On Model QT-720 Radiographic Tables, connect #10AWG yellow/green
ground wire between table ground stud (on back side of right table leg)
and the x-ray generator.
2. On Model QT-720 Radiographic Tables, if so equipped, connect #16AWG
yellow/green ground wire between Bucky Cabinet ground stud and the Ta-
ble Base ground stud.
3. Attach Phenolic Table Top to Table Top Frame.
POST INSTALLATION CHECK
All mounting procedures must be approved before, and checked after, installa-
tion by the hospital or facility engineering department and a registered, profes-
sional, structural engineer. It is recommended that a leakage current measure-
ment be taken following installation to verify system meets allowable levels.
