Netcfg CLI Commands

--dnssecondary
: Secondary IP address of DNS.
•
--dnstertiary
: Tertiary IP address of DNS.
•
--dnssearchpath
: Search path lookup for DNS name.
Querying the Network
syscli --query network
This CLI command allows the user to query for system network configuration
information. It displays the hostname, netmask, gateway, domain name, DNS
domain name, DNS IP, and Bond IP.

In general, use the
netcfg
CLI commands for setting individual IP subnet
information per physical interface. In addition to configuring independent
ports, you can create multiple bonds, although all ports in a bond must be the
same type.
Before using
netcfg
CLI commands, please be aware of the following:
• Only for use by administrators with advanced knowledge of networking.
• Not appropriate for sites that rely on host-based security because it does
not provide firewalling.
• Does not validate settings; it is recommended that you use a text editor to
prepare commands rather than typing them live.
• You should manually back up the current configuration before changing it.
• Old network CLI's will not work while a custom configuration is in effect.
• If you are assigning an IP address to any Ethernet port or bond using custom
network configuration, you must configure the gateway field in the CLI

can be the subnet’s gateway IP address or any unused IP address within the
subnet.
Note:
Network configuration changes made with
netcfg
CLI commands are
not applied until you reboot the DXi
