be installed and serviced
by an experienced and trained technician.
•
Users MUST never attempt to repair, adjust or modify any
components of the QLK-150 system and/or seatbelts.
•
Wheelchairs are not intended to be used as seats in motor
vehicles unless compliant with ANSI/RESNA WC-4, Section 19.
•
The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System complies with all
applicable requirements of ADA, FMVSS, CMVSS, SAE J2249,
CSA Z604, AS2942, ISO 10542-1 and ANSI/RESNA WC-4

•
This system is a complete integrated system, do not alter or
modify it in any way and do not interchange or substitute any
components. Any deviation from these recommendations is the
responsibility of the installer.
•
The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System and components
have been tested in a configuration similar to the
recommendations in this manual.
•
This Docking System and its components
MUST
be regularly
inspected, cleaned and maintained—reference the Preventative
Maintenance Checklist in this manual.
•
Regulations and standards in some countries require the
installation of a shoulder and lap belt to be considered a
compliant wheelchair securement system.
The QLK-150
Wheelchair Docking System plus the shoulder and lap belt
(occupant restraint) make a complete wheelchair securement
system.
•
If no lights illuminate on the Dash Control when the ignition
is turned on, DO NOT use the QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking
System.
•
A Stabilizer MUST be used with the QLK-150 Wheelchair
Docking System if this System is being used for a driver
application and recommended for all other applications.
•
Using a Q’Straint® bracket with this Docking System is
recommended.
•
Do not operate the vehicle if the warning buzzer is beeping, or
the red light is lit up on the Dash Control.
•
The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System should not be
operated by anyone who does not have full comprehension of
how the System works or if the System is not working properly.
•
The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System and all system
components including floor and wall anchorages MUST be
replaced after a vehicle collision.
•
Broken and worn components
MUST
be replaced.

•
Installer is responsible for making sure the installed QLK-150
Wheelchair Docking System meets all applicable regulations
and standards—and that the system works according to the
instructions in the section of this manual called Operating

•
Occupant restraint system (shoulder and lap belt)
MUST
meet
applicable regulations of FMVSS/CMVSS, SAE J2249, ISO
10542-1 and CSA Z605.
•
Airbags should be used only as an added safety device in
conjunction with a wheelchair securement system, a shoulder
and lap belt restraint system that are compliant with the
requirements of SAE J2249 / ISO 10542-1.
•
The airbag
MUST
be disconnected if the wheelchair occupant is
positioned less than 7” (177.8mm) from the airbag unit, or if an
aftermarket device is installed to block the deployment of the
airbag.
•
Never put the vehicle in motion unless the Docking Bolt
is secured inside the Docking System, the Green Light on
the Dash Control is illuminated and wheelchair occupant
is properly secured by a Shoulder and Lap Belt (Occupant
Restraint).
•
The Buzzer’s noise level does not exceed 70 db(A).
•
Make sure Docking Bolt is secured inside Docking System—
the Green Light on Dash Control will be illuminated if the
Locking Pawl is closed without the Docking Bolt secured inside
Docking System.
•
When vehicle is turned off, make sure the Locking Pawl
REMAINS open on the Docking System so that all lights on
the Dash Control are off. If the Locking Pawl is left closed the
Green Light on the Dash Control will remain on and it will
continue to use the vehicle’s battery power.
•
DO NOT accidentally push the Manual Release Lever on
the Wheelchair Docking System while the vehicle is on or in
motion because it will open the Locking Pawl and release the
wheelchair.
•
Do NOT pulldown or pushdown the Optional Manual Release
Control while vehicle is in motion, for it will release the
wheelchair.
•
If the wheelchair does not disengage the Docking System
immediately after Locking Pawl opens, the Locking Pawl will lock
up again after 10 seconds.
•
The QLK-150 has been tested for (ISO10542-1:2012) with a
surrogate wheelchair weighing 200kg (440 lbs.).
