QLogic QLE8142 Converged Network Adapter
The QLogic QLE8142 Converged Network Adapter is a single chip, fully-offloaded
FCoE initiator, operating in both virtual and non-virtual environments, running over
an Enhanced Ethernet fabric. The QLE8142 adapter initiator boosts system
performance with 10Gbps speed and full hardware offload for FCoE protocol
processing. Cutting-edge 10Gbps bandwidth eliminates performance bottlenecks
in the I/O path with a 10X data rate improvement over existing 1Gbps Ethernet
solutions. In addition, full hardware offload for FCoE protocol processing reduces
system CPU usage for I/O operations, which leads to faster application
performance and greater consolidation in virtualized systems.
QLogic 5800V Series Fibre Channel Switch
The QLogic SB5800V Series Fibre Channel switch supports 2Gb, 4Gb, and 8Gb
devices and optics, while providing 10Gb inter-switch links that are can be
upgraded to 20Gb when workload demands increase. The QLogic 5800V Series
switch provides intuitive installation and configuration wizards, stack and SNMP
administration, standard adaptive trunking, and unparalleled upgrade flexibility.
Multi-switch implementations require up to 50 percent fewer switches to achieve
the same number of device ports. The result is that system costs can grow as
needed rather than by over-provisioning Fibre Channel infrastructure upon the
initial hardware and software acquisition.
