or upgrade them prior to using the InfiniPath Version 2.0 release. The
OpenFabrics RPMs as described in this documentation are compatible
with the InfiniPath Version 2.0 release.
To generate a list of software package contents on each OpenFabrics RPM run:
$ rpm -qlp rpm_file_name
NOTE: There are currently some OpenFabrics limitations with IBM Power
Systems. SRP and iSER do not yet work. This will be fixed in a future
release.

Downloading and Installing InfiniPath and OpenFabrics Software
In this section we assume that the correct Linux kernel and a supported distribution
have been installed on every node. Although QLogic recommends that all RPMs
are installed on all nodes, some are optional depending on which type of node is
being used. To see which RPMS are required or optional for each type of node,
according to its function as a compute node, front end node, development machine,
or subnet manager,
see appendix A .
3.5.1
Downloading the
tar
File Containing the RPMs
There are multiple interdependent RPM packages that make up the InfiniPath and
OpenFabrics software. All the RPMs are packaged into a single tar file for
download.T he OpenFabrics RPMs are also contained in this tar file. The
tar
files
can be downloaded from the QLogic web site:
http://www.qlogic.com
Follow the links to the desired download, and follow the instructions for downloading
on the web page. Download it to any convenient directory. Then:
$ tar zxvf InfiniPath2.0- xxx - yyy .tgz
where
xxx
is the distribution identifier,
Fedora
,
SuSE9.3,
or
SLES10 and yyy
is the platform architecture, x86_64 or ppc64. The
tar
command will create a
directory based on the tar file name and place the RPMs there.
NOTE: A specific download directory is not required. The install process will
create and install in the correct directories. The locations of the install
directories are given in the
InfiniPath Interconnect User Guide in
section 2.2 .
The InfiniPath OFED 1.1 library and utility source
tar
file may also be downloaded
from the web site.
