QIAGEN BioRobot M48 01/2003
4.2
AC power connection
Power requirements
The BioRobot M48 operates at:
• 110–120 V AC ± 10%, 50/60 Hz, 470 VA
(Canada, Japan, and USA)
• 220–240 V AC ± 10%, 50/60 Hz, 470 VA
(Australia and Europe)
Make sure the voltage rating of the BioRobot M48 and of the
computer hardware are compatible with the AC voltage
available at the installation site.
Grounding requirements
To protect operating personnel, the National Electrical
Manufacturers’ Association (NEMA) recommends that the
BioRobot M48 be correctly grounded (earthed). The
workstation and the computer hardware are equipped with
3-conductor AC power cords that, when connected to
appropriate AC power outlets, ground (earth) the equipment.
To preserve this protection feature, do not operate the
equipment from AC power outlets that have no ground
(earth) connection.
Installation of AC power cord
Connect one end of the AC power cord to the socket located
on the left side of the BioRobot M48, and the other end to the
AC power outlet. Repeat this procedure for the computer
hardware.
