Comm Redundancy Applications
For redundant system configurations, there is a “Disable” input signal on one of the four
Ethernet ports (J12C-pin 8). When an appropriate signal is applied to this pin, the RS-232
communications ports of the unit are disabled.
Two other Ethernet ports (J12B-pin 8, J12D-pin 8) provide an output on this pin, so that
the unit can act to disable other devices as required for redundant configurations.
Note that although the disable input and output signals are available on the ethernet
ports, they function to disable the RS232 ports of the particular ePAQ-94XX unit.
Connectors J12B, J12D : Pin 7 = Common, Pin 8 = Disable Output
