6.6 Ports 12/13 (J8B/J8A): RS-232 (Bit/Byte) Ports
6.6.1 Introduction
The ePAQ-94XX includes two RS-232 ports, via RJ45 connectors. The ports can be
byte or bit oriented. Each port includes RTS and CTS handshaking lines, as well as clock
control lines TXCLK and RXCLK for bit oriented synchronous protocols. Asynchronous port
speeds are generally 1200 to 115.2kbps, and other speeds dependent on bit oriented
protocols. When the RS-232 bit ports are configured for bit oriented protocol, the input and
output bits are manually controlled by software. Bit protocols supported are per factory order.
