QuantaMesh Ethernet Switches support multiple NOS by using ONIE to install. The
following pages provide example of how to manually install ONIE installer of Quanta NOS
from QuantaMesh BMS devices.
Manually Install Vendor OS
With QUANTA ONIE code, it allows user to manually download an installer. You can use
the
Download Installer
function which supports 3 types of different protocols (i.e. FTP,
TFTP, and HTTP) to download the installer file from your local server.
To download and update the vendor OS code manually, perform the following:

Locate the specific QUANTA ONIE installer image that you want to download.
For example, the installer file name:
ly3-onie-installer-1.5.3

Place the installer file into your local FTP, TFTP, or HTTP server.
For example, the server IP address:
192.168.2.153

Go to ONIE Linux Shell.
a.
Connect your PC and the switch using a console cable.
b.
Enter ONIE Linux Shell.
c.
Use the following command to stop ONIE service discovery:
“killall discover”
