Trim Tab Maintenance
Marine growth can interfere with the proper
operation of the trim tab planes and actua-
tors. To reduce problems due to marine
growth, always return the trim tabs to the full
“UP” position after operating the boat and
periodically inspect and clean marine growth
from the actuators and planes.
Trim tabs are equipped with a zinc anode to
prevent galvanic corrosion. Electrolytes,
such as saltwater, cause galvanic corrosion
with different metals. Properly protect sub-
merged metal parts from seawater using
zinc anodes. The factory installed zinc
anodes, but replace the anodes when they
are 75% of their original size.

zinc anodes and the trim tab owner’s manual
for additional maintenance information, fluid
specifications and operating instructions.

Inspect and maintain control and

service procedures. Control misad-
justment can cause loss of control
and severe engine or lower unit dam-
age.
