HOW TO FIT

Follow these mounting tips in the order below.

Use diagram on cover for reference.

1. LOWER FRAME

Do not place the lower frame on glass, plastic, or thin metal (some SUVs and vans

have a large section of poorly supported metal that will dent under the weight of a

bike rack and bikes). A common location is a well-supported license plate area, just

above or below the numbers.

2. UPPER FRAME

Rotate upper frame until it rests on the vehicle. The position is relative to the lower

frame and will depend on vehicle shape, spoiler, etc. In general the lower frame

should end up as vertical as possible. (Tilt forward or back if necessary to fit the

vehicle better). Do not use this product if it interferes with your vehicles rear spoiler.

3. TOP HOOKS

Confirm that the upper hooks can mount to the leading edge of the hatch or boot.

The included cylinder hooks allow use on glass hatches, vehicles with a weather

strip that interferes with top hooks, and vehicles with gaps too narrow to

accommodate buckles.

4. BOTTOM HOOKS

The first choice is the bottom of the boot/hatch. Second choice is under the

bumper if there is a rigid, metal attachment point. The third choice is tie down

hooks underneath the vehicle or holes in the vehicle’s frame. Confirm that straps

are not near vehicle exhaust or rubbing on sharp metal edges.

5. SIDE HOOKS

Mount to the side of the boot/hatch. Position the hooks so that they will not slide

up or down when tensioned.

6. SUPPORT ARMS

Adjust the support arms to be just up from horizontal. Confirm that the bikes will

have sufficient ground clearance. If the bikes are too low, adjust the Shuttle’s

position up on the vehicle.
