The swing away armrests are inserted into the accessory support
“S” with system
:
1 with steel support with safety lock (figure 82), or
2 with simple aluminium support (figure 84) (available only with
standard rear frame).
Both systems allows the armrest to be r
emoved or rotated
outwardly as to make moving in and out of the wheelchair easier.
The armrest can be adjusted in height.
With the system
1 (figure 82)
remove (using a 3mm Allen key and
a 8 mm spanner) the fixing screws “A”, then raise or lower the
armrest by sliding it up or down the support ”B” until the desired
height is reached. It is also possible to move the support “S” and fix
it in a different position along the pre-drilled holes on the frame, in
this case it will be necessary to remove the fixing bolts and nuts (5
mm Allen key and 10 mm spanner) and fix the support in another
position. Other bolts and nuts may be necessary. After adjusting
the height, re- tighten the screws “A” in the nearest pre-drilled hole.
With the system 2 (figure 84) the adjustment is possible only by
moving the support “S” along the frame.
To facilitate transfers, it is possible to rotate the armrest by 180° or
simply remove it completely.
To rotate the armrest, lift it enough to free the safety system
(system 1)
or to free it from the support’s walls
(system 2)
and
swing it outward by 180° (figure 83).
To remove the armrest, with the system
1
first push forward the
fixing pin “P” positioned in the lower part of the support “S” and
pull the armrest up (figure 85).
With the system
2
just pull the armrest up.
Insert and push down the armrest in the support hole in order to fix
it. With the system
1,
an audible click indicates the correct position
has been reached.
With the system
2
the tube “T” will lean simply on the support.
